Reset Your Expectations

1 Samuel 3

“It is certainly a very delightful thing to mark the hand of God in the lives of ancient saints… But, beloved, would it not be even more interesting and profitable for us to remark the hand of God in our own lives? … I think we do our Lord an injustice when we suppose that he wrought all his mighty acts in days of yore, and showed himself strong for those in the early time, but does not perform wonders… for the saints that are now upon the earth.”

– Charles Spurgeon

WHAT ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR?

“If we don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because we have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because we have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Our soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.”

– John Piper
