ThanksLiving – Week 3

ThanksLiving is a lifestyle of appreciation

How long is the grace that is said over your Thanksgiving meal?
How much does the average Christian pray?
How much time does the average Christian spend in church, groups, outreach, etc?
How often does the average Christian read the Bible?

How often do you stop to say “Thank You” to Jesus for the blessings of your life?

What comes to mind when I say “the first Thanksgiving”? Ever hear of the Margaret?

“We ordaine (sic) that this day of our ships arrival, at the place assigned for [plantation], in the land of Virginia, shall be yearly and perpetually kept holy as a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God.”
Virginia Company of London, 1619

“Most Thanksgivings in the early days were religious services, not meals”
Graham Woodlief, direct descendant of John Woodlief, Captain of the Margaret, which arrived in Chesapeake Bay in 1619

How often do you stop to say “Thank You” to Jesus for His provision?

Psalm 40:5, 119:97-98, 119:105, 119:129, 12:6, 19:7-8, 19:10, 18:30

How often do you stop to say “Thank You” to Jesus for the depth of Who He is to us?

Have you ever heard the phrase “spirit of excellence”?

It does not mean excellence in performance. A spirit of excellence means:
– having an attitude of excellence,
– giving my all because Jesus gave His all,
– giving the effort Jesus deserves and is worthy of!

How often do you stop to say “Thank You” to Jesus for what we have found in Him?

ThanksLiving is turning your giving of thanks into living your thanks!
