Last week’s sermon was on how we believe in God, Who is sovereign! He is everything and owns everything! He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient! And He is love!
And who am I?
Moses – Exodus 3:9-4:17
Gideon – Judges 6:14-16
Esther – Esther 4:11
Mary – Luke 1:29-34
Woman healed of disease – Luke 8:43-48
Job – Job 25:6
David – Psalm 22:6, 31:11, 109:25, 119:145
All these “heroes” of faith had excuses, doubts, confusion and failures. And just like them…
You are chosen – we believe in you!
“The ‘choice,’ as far as the parable is concerned, appears as dependent upon the answer given to the calling.“
– Charles Ellicott
The invitation is not enough. Everyone is welcome, even invited. But we must accept the invitation, we must “elect” to come, and come with the proper attitude.
2 Chronicles 29:11
According to the preceding verses, their predecessors were no longer entering God’s holy presence, lighting the way for others, offering prayers to God, repenting of their sin.
But… we have so many “buts” and so we often relate more to Moses, or Job, or David, with all our mistakes, sin and failures.
But grace!
The biggest reason to believe in you? Jesus did!
Matthew 28:18-20, John 14:12, Acts 1:8
You were born “for such a time as this!”
