The Gift of Giving

Find your gift here.

We are all called to give, but people with the motivational gift of giving are called to give above and beyond.

The motivational gift of giving begins where tithing ends.

A person with the motivational gift of giving has the Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by giving of their material resources, far beyond the tithe, to further the work of God. They help meet the financial needs of fellow Christians and church members.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Strengths of Givers

  • They give with a happy heart – they love to be generous!
  • Their giving inspires others.
  • They steward their finances strategically – not to be confused with the gifts of mercy or helping.

Weaknesses of Givers

  • They can expect control when their money is involved instead of trusting those God has appointed to lead.

King Asa
2 Chronicles 15:1-2
2 Chronicles 15:17-19

Asa’s plan worked, but it wasn’t God’s way. His greatest failure as a leader was missing what God could have done with his life if he had trusted God with his resources.

Generosity is a sign of God working in our lives.
