Spot The Difference – Week 5

Why different?
To fulfill our mission to reach those no one else is reaching
When you believe different you get to live different!

Imagine sitting on a beach. It’s too cool for swimming but there’s a nice fire, a luau-styled buffet, the soft crashing of waves. Nice, huh? But there is no future in beach life.

PACK THE BAG – EVERY DAY

Acts 28:26-27

Recap from week 4 of this series:
We struggle because we’re packing an overnight bag for an epic journey!

“I don’t want one for one night. I want something for a thousand and one nights.”

George Bailey, It’s a Wonderful Life

STEP ONE, EMPTY THE BAG

Have you ever needed to empty a bag before you could begin to pack it?

There will always be parts of secular society that do not belong in the life a Christian. Always.

What I watch, listen to, read. Turmoil (see Matthew 5:9, James 3:17-18, Colossians 3:15). Certain people. Crowd mentality.

STEP TWO, PACK FOR NEED

Packing an overnight bag is taking the least possible amount of stuff to just get by. Packing your big suitcase means taking the stuff you know you’ll need and even the stuff you might need.

Rituals are important. Ask a golfer, a placekicker or a public speaker.

Pray. Without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
First, last, and sometime in between.
Recognize your prayer closet. Matthew 6:6

Read the Bible. Daily.
Read until something clicks. It will breed expectation!

Connect. Regularly.
Connect with people, both those you need in your life & those who need you in theirs.
Connect with a vision.
